Super Stories from Superst r Girls
"The way Girls On The Run has helped make me healthier is by making me more disciplined in doing my homework and my school work. I also run at home, at school and at play. I used to be lazy, and would not wake up early to get ready for school or for Girls On The Run. But ever since I started G.O.T.R, I have been able to wake up. The foods I eat are now much healthier. I used to cut out all the healthy stuff and eat all the all the junk stuff, but I don't any more. Those are the ways G.O.T.R has made me healthier." Abena Amoakuh, 4th grade
"Girls on the run has helped me run every day, and eat nutritious foods like fruits and vegetables. I eat more fruits and vegetables now, and I also know the importance of moderation. I am exercising a lot by riding my bike, scooter, running, walking and playing. I even exercise when I am writing or typing, and I also garden. Last Wednesday, I even walked around the whole Piedmont Park with my sister and my mom, and I wanted to go another round. Even when I get tired when I'm exercising, I keep on going. I tell myself to go, go, go. Now I love to run, and I enjoy it. That is why I love Girls On The Run." Konadu Amoakuh, 4th grade
"Girls on the Run helped me to be more confident in myself because after being encouraged by friends and coaches while participating in the 5K, I felt very proud of myself and it taught me that you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it. Now, almost every time I am asked to participate in a fun run or even a 5K, I take the chance. Every Wednesday, it brings excitement to my mind when I think about Girls on the Run. I know that there, I will always have fun no matter what." Lauren Scott, age 9
